The Engineering and Science Building, a 230,000 gross square foot structure, is key to the School of Engineering's strategic initiative to expand and enhance basic and applied research capabilities. The building provides space for 40 new faculty and houses a university-wide innovation center to foster collaboration between students, faculty, technology transfer initiatives, and industry professionals. The building includes an undergraduate innovation commons and a 10,000 square foot nano-fabrication cleanroom,  and an imaging suite. The building supports the School’s goals to broaden interdisciplinary research in biomedical engineering, attracts faculty in nanotechnology and environmental engineering, and reinforce the culture of undergraduate research.

The Wond’ry is a 13,000 square foot commons space dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship and innovation. It partners with a variety of organizations to support the commercialization of laboratory discoveries and academic ideas, and provides entrepreneurial assistance for student ventures through its PreFlight/PostFlight programs. Its three stories include co-laboratory areas, team meeting rooms, a media presentation lounge, and maker spaces with 3D printing, foam fabrication, rapid prototyping, and robotics capabilities. The Wond’ry's location within the new Engineering and Science Building helps to further advance interdisciplinary research in biomedical engineering, energy, and materials science.
